Asking price of 199,000 Euros

This price includes agency fees. The local agent , who is handling the sale on an exclusive basis, speaks excellent English, French and Dutch and is available to guide you through the process of house buying in France.

  • GBP - As a rough guide, at an exchange rate of 1.12 Euros to £1 sterling, the price equates to around £177,500.
  • USD - As a rough guide, at an exchange rate of 0.72 Euros to USD $1, the price equates to around $276,000.
The actual equivalent in a non Euro currency, will obviously depend on the appropriate exchange rate at the time of purchase in Euros.

Note that notaire fees for the legal process are payable to the notaire in addition to the above figure. Notaires are the only persons permitted by law to perform conveyancing in France.

Buying property in France is straightforward, but it is 'different' and horror stories abound. Rest assured, we will not be removing the kitchen, log burner, door handles, electric fittings, fuse box or staircase. Nor will we be leaving you with 100 years of accumulated junk, feral cats, a chained up dog or a sitting tenant with indefinite legal rights. We will not be digging up our favourite plants or cutting down the trees for firewood and there is no right of access for cows or the local hunt across the garden. I could go on, but you get the jist. It does happen!
